Stance Studios BBC Commission - Untold Legends: Ora

Stance Studios announces the airing of its first narrative form production commissioned by the BBC, Untold Legends: Ora. A eight part series uncovering the little known story of sporting legend Ora Washington.

Ora Washington was a star tennis and basketball player who fought to make a name for herself against the backdrop of classism, homophobia and inequality in racially segregated America. The winner of 23 national tennis titles and player for both the Philadelphia Tribune Girls team and Germantown Hornets, Ora’s story has long been forgotten, and is rediscovered in this series.

Hosted by former pro basketball player and broadcaster Renee Montgomery, the podcast and radio series charts the life and influences of Ora Washington both on and off the court.
