SuperJazzClub by David Nana Opoku Ansah

The Ghanaian collective SuperJazzClub consists of members: BiQo, Øbed, Seyyoh, Tano Jackson, Oliver Nortt, Gloriiia Denniiis, Joeyturks, Ansah Live and Anthony Orleans-Lindsay. Individually they are artists, producers, filmmakers and DJs based out of Accra.

As friends, in 2018, they  came together to form the creative collective, SuperJazzClub. A DIY approach has shaped their sound, which is in part, an ode to Accra’s dynamic music scene and dance culture. Chrystal meets four band members in the studio to hear how creativity rooted in different fields unite them through music.

Palm Moments is a creative hub workspace and restaurant which regularly hosts events, including culinary experiences in collaboration with artists. Each edition reflects on a specific theme through its curated menu made up of local fresh ingredients.

The events spotlight creatives from the city and wider African diaspora. Chrystal tries out the Sundown Dining Experience featuring innovative Ghanaian cuisine by Chef Kwame Fiafoli, and the works of Ghanaian British ceramicist Ella Bulley. Ella’s ceramics from her collection Ye O Niyenii served as tableware at the dinner.

The collection celebrates a culture of migration and traditions, reflecting on rituals and African heritage. While at the communal dinner, Chrystal speaks with founder of Palm Moments, Anastasia Cobbinah, Ella Bulley and Kwame Fiafoli about how food, art and culture collide.
