Peru born, Germany based producer, activist and DJ Sofia Kourtesis creates bittersweet, tender house music. Her recent EP Fresia Magdalena features tracks influenced by family relationships, joy, community, and loss. All of which are sung in Spanish.
Before hitting the stage at Glastonbury, Sofia chats with Stance about how nature, hope and activism inform her work, and how Berlin as a creative hub enriches her sound.
Founded in 1970, Glastonbury Festival is a five day celebration of contemporary performing arts including music and theatre, taking place in Somerset, England. It is the largest performing arts festival in the world.
Inspired by the counterculture movement of the 1960s, Glastonbury has become a landmark event within creative arts and culture. Over the years, leading artists have performed, including Stevie Wonder, David Bowie, Beyoncé, Stormzy, and Diana Ross. While lesser known artists have been given a platform at the festival to perform for the first time.
Stance spends the weekend at the festival, immersed in the festival’s electric sounds, atmosphere and performances which make up the sound of Glastonbury.
